The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is the public safety school of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). What is the passing rate for the PNPACAT?
The PNPACAT is a competency-based exam. You need to have a passing rate of at least 50% in each of the subjects covered. If you fail in any of the subjects (e.g. you scored 49% in General Information and Current Events but scored high in the other four subject areas), you will not be allowed to proceed to the next stage of the screening.

What are the medical disqualifications in the PNPACAT?
Here are the grounds for medical disqualification in the PNPACAT:
- Visual problems (color blindness, near-sightedness/far-sightedness with corrective eyeglasses or lens, nystagmus)
- Physical disabilities (e.g. bowlegs or congenital defects)
- Heart problems (history of heart disease, hypertension)
- Pulmonary problems (asthma, active Pulmonary Tuberculosis or PTB)
- Communicable diseases (AIDS, Hepatitis, etc.)
- Dental problems (full dentures, cleft lip, cleft palate, open bite, tongue-tied, missing of four anterior or front teeth, missing of six posterior/molar teeth)
- Tattoos or other brotherhood marks
- Ear piercing for male and multiple ear piercings for female
- For Female applicants: goiter, history of pregnancy, presence of breast mass, painful menstruation
- Any other health problems which may hinder the applicant’s Cadetship Training Program
What are the application requirements of the PNPACAT?
To take the PNPACAT, you need to meet the following qualifications:
- Natural-born Filipino citizen
- 18 to 22 years old on the date of application
- Single with no parental obligation
- At least Senior High School graduate upon admission
- At least 5 feet and 4 inches for male applicants and 5 feet and 2 inches for female applicants in height
- With a weight that corresponds to the applicant’s height, gender and age (in reference to BMI)
- Physically and mentally fit
- Good moral character
- No criminal, administrative, and civil cases
- Not a former cadet of PNPA, or other service academies (PMA, PMMA, MAAP)
- Not have been dismissed from any private employment or government position for cause
When is the PNPACAT?
The Philippine National Police Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) happens every last Sunday of October or first week of November every year. The deadline of application for the admission test is on the last week of September. You can take the PNPACAT in 28 testing centers nationwide.
How to apply for the PNPACAT?
